THE SUNROOM

Renovation

This three-season mudroom turned all year sunroom and welcoming entryway in this small cape-cod style home. The unusually low ceilings were raised, insulation added and the wall to the adjacent kitchen opened up allowing more light and air to flow. An oversized custom built-in-bench /daybed doubles as easy-access-storage. A light, soft paint color is comfortable on the eye, avoiding the harsh contrast a darker tone would create against the strong south-facing light. This window seat has become a well loved space that everyone gravitates toward, used throughout the day.
